DAY 1 Arrive In Porto
Upon arrival in Porto, make your way to your hotel and check-in for a two-night stay. Spend the next two days leisurely in Porto, the beautiful, historic city on the River Duoro. Wander through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town and witness the colorful market hustle and bustle of the Mercado do Bolhão. DAY 2 Porto
No visit to Porto is complete without a tour around the Port Wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. You can choose a guided tour or make your way around on your own. (Overnight in Porto)
DAY 3 Porto to Coimbra
After breakfast, make the short train journey from Porto to Coimbra and then check-in for a two-night stay at your hotel. Coimbra is a fascinating city in a lovely location overlooking the Mondego River. The city’s university was founded in 1290, making it the oldest university in Portugal. You can visit the ornately decorated halls, chapel, and library and then enjoy the spectacular views of the city from the outside. (Overnight in Coimbra)
DAY 4 Coimbra
Enjoy an informative guided tour of Coimbra university, including the beautiful Baroque Johannine library entrance. The city has many lovely parks, one of the best being The Dr Manuel Braja Park, designed in the 1920s with a grand bandstand and some beautiful sculptures. (Overnight in Coimbra)
DAY 5 Coimbra to Lisbon
After a final leisurely breakfast in Coimbra, head to the station, take the train directly to Lisbon and then check in at your hotel for a three-night stay. (Overnight in Lisbon)
DAY 6 Lisbon
Draped over seven hills overlooking the mouth of the River Tagus is Portugal’s historic capital city. As one of the oldest cities in the world, it has a vast amount to explore. You will find everything from the narrow streets of the Barrio Alto to the majestic Praça do Comércio, the central square overlooking the wide river. Your small group tour included is the best way to enjoy these and more, including a stop for one of Lisbon’s delicious Pasteis de Nata. (Overnight in Lisbon)
DAY 7 Lisbon
Do you want spectacular views and an insight into the city’s Moorish history? Why not head up to the impressive hilltop castle, the Castelo de São Jorge, after breakfast?
