Cologne And Copenhagen By Train

Explore the sounds and sights of Cologne by train!

Ride the rails from London to Cologne for an overnight stay on the Rhine side before catching the train to Copenhagen, the fairy tale Danish capital, where cool contemporary melds with historic charm!

DAY 1 – Arrive In Cologne

Welcome to Cologne! Rhine-side Cologne hosts spectacular views from the river banks or the top of its world-famous Cathedral. After checking in, spend an afternoon exploring the Old Town, perhaps tucking into a traditional meal, before spending the night at your hotel. (Overnight in Cologne)

DAY 2 – Cologne

After breakfast this morning, explore more of Cologne using your included city card. Cologne is a cosmopolitan city, with a skyline dominated by the twin spires of its famous Gothic Dom Cathedral. You can climb up inside the spires if you want spectacular city views.

Alternatively, visit the Chocolate Museum or take a cruise down the River Rhine. Here, you will learn the history and process of chocolate making. Make sure you enjoy a few samples along the way! (Overnight in Cologne)

DAY 3 – Cologne To Copenhagen

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel before you travel by train to Copenhagen. Travel via Hamburg than the impressive Great Belt Fixed Link to Copenhagen. On arrival, check in at your hotel, just a stone’s throw from the famous Nyhavn, for a three-night stay. Spend the evening exploring Copenhagen, admiring the illuminated reflections in the pretty canals. Treating yourself to some traditional Danish cuisine. (Overnight in Copenhagen)

DAY 4 – Copenhagen

After breakfast, spend the day leisurely exploring Copenhagen, using your Copenhagen card, including free travel on the city’s public transport. There is no better place to begin exploring than Nyhavn. Once home to Hans Christian Andersen it is now a popular hub of colorful buildings, quaint shops, and traditional eateries. Soak up the fairy tale atmosphere at Tivoli Gardens, the world’s largest amusement park, or take a boat trip along the picturesque waterways to catch glimpses of the famous Opera House and, of course, the Little Mermaid statue. (Overnight in Copenhagen)

DAY 5 – Copenhagen

Spend another day discovering Copenhagen. Visit Kronborg castle in Elsinore, home of a famous Shakespearian Dane, or shop until you drop on Strøget, the world’s longest pedestrianized street. After a day of sightseeing, why not visit the lively Norrebrø district and enjoy dinner or relax in one of the many bars? (Overnight in Copenhagen)

DAY 6 – Depart Copenhagen

After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue your travels.
