In this sample itinerary, you'll enjoy two days of extraordinary landscapes onboard Rocky Mountaineer as you go from the Rockies to the Red Rocks.

You will explore the natural wonders and history of this spectacular region with awe-inspiring sightseeing tours and activities.

A few of the trip highlights are state and national parks such as Arches National Park and Zion National Park. Additionally, this itinerary includes tours & transfers, entrance fees; gratuities for onboard hosts, tour guides & drivers; tour guides and drivers; luggage handling at hotels and train stations.

Day 1

Explore Denver on your own after checking in. Tonight you'll stay overnight at Maven Hotel in Denver.

Day 2

Board the Rocky Mountaineer in Denver to start your exciting rail journey. Early in the journey you'll cross the Continental Divide as you take in spectacular views of the rugged canyons and Colorado River before arriving in Glenwood Springs. Meals include breakfast and lunch on board today. You'll spend the night in Glenwood Springs.

Day 3

Depart Glenwood Springs and travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer. While onboard, you'll cross the Colorado-Utah border with stunning mountain views in the background. Red sandstone landscapes emerge as you approach Moab. Next, you'll meet your tour guide for a scenic drive to Dead Horse Point State Park for a picnic lunch and tour of Canyonlands National Park in the afternoon. Included meals are breakfast onboard and a picnic lunch in the park. Tonight, you'll stay overnight at HooDoo Moab, Curio Collection by Hilton, or similar.

Day 4

Today, you'll tour the highlight of Arches National Park. The area's unique geology created the highest concentration of natural arches in the world, with over 2,000 named arches within the park boundary. After the tour, enjoy your free time to explore Moab and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, join the group for a Jet Boat Ride on the mighty Colorado River through spectacular red rock canyons. You'll learn about the river's ecosystem, geology, and history. Enjoy dinner with a million-dollar view at the Sunset Grill. Tonight you'll stay in the same hotel you stayed in last night.

Day 5

After breakfast, leave Moab head to  Capitol Reef National Park and a picnic lunch under old-growth cottonwood trees. Highlights include Scenic Highway 12, incredible views of Capitol Reef, Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument, and more. In the late afternoon, tour Bryce Canyon National Park, home to the most extensive collection of hoodoos in the world. This evening, join the group for some excellent western food and entertainment at Ebenezer's Barn and Grill, followed by a private Stargazing Experience with local astronomers. Stay overnight at BW Plus Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel or similar.

Day 6

This morning, return to Bryce Canyon National Park for a morning view before taking a scenic ride to see Utah's oldest and most famous national park, Zion National Park. Visit the towering mountains and red canyons. Lunch is on your own. Later in the afternoon, arrive in the town of Springdale. Explore the city at leisure. Tonight, stay overnight at Cable Mountain Lodge, Springdale, or similar.

Day 7

After breakfast, return to Zion National Park for additional sightseeing. Enjoy lunch at the beautiful Cliffside restaurant in St. George before you arrive at your final destination, Las Vegas. Explore and enjoy all that Las Vegas has to offer on your own. Stay overnight at The Mirage, Las Vegas, or similar.

Day 8

This morning, transfer to Las Vegas Airport for your departure home. As you can see, there's a lot to enjoy in Utah with Rocky Mountaineer. This trip can also be done in reverse. The benefit to starting in Las Vegas and ending in Denver is that you are active at the beginning of your vacation and relax more in the final days.
