Munich and Cologne– Visit Soon!

Take a train trip between two fascinating and contrasting cities. Spend three nights in Cologne, and then travel to the capital of Bavaria, Munich.

Next, spend three additional nights in the southern German city. Cologne is the largest city on the River Rhine, and is a bustling and cosmopolitan city. Munich is more relaxed, and famous for excellent beer!

Day 1

Day 2

Explore the best of Cologne on your narrated, hop-on hop-off, double-decker bus tour.

Visit many of Cologne’s top attractions — like Cologne Cathedral and Cologne City Hall, plus visit the Old Town district, bustling Roncalliplatz, the historic Alter Markt square. Also included is a 1-hour Rhine River sightseeing cruise.

Day 3

Enjoy another day discovering Cologne. Chocoholics will want to spend some time at the famous Chocolate Museum on the Rheinau Peninsula. The museum is complete with a chocolate fountain and many tasting opportunities.

In the evening, don't miss out on a trip to a traditional kölsch restaurant. Another option is to visit to one of the many Brauhäuser (pubs/breweries) that surround the cathedral.

Munich Railway Bridge is the highest bridge in Germany.

Day 4

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel this morning. Then, make your way to the train station for the ICE train from Cologne to Munich. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for a three-night stay.

Day 5

Spend a full day exploring the relaxed city of Munich using your hop on hop off pass! If your trip greets you with sunshine, a stroll around the huge urban Englisher Garten is a real treat.

Explore the boutiques, cafés and sights of the Alstadt, admire the architecture of Marienplatz, the city's central square. Or you can learn all about Bavarian history at the Bavarian National Museum.

Come the evening, don't miss a trip to one of the city's famous beer halls. The most renowned of these - the Hofbräuhaus - is a three-floor establishment dating back to the 16th-century. It is overflowing with traditional food, beer and music!

Day 6

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a final day touring Munich. Discover the fascinating science and technology exhibitions at the Deutsches Museum. Or, you may explore one of the many other museums and galleries that dot the city.

After an active day exploring, relax and sample the local food and drink specialties in a bar, café or restaurant. If you'd like a memorable performance go to the Bavarian State Opera.

Day 7

After breakfast this morning, check out of your hotel and continue with your travels.
